Laneige Brighten-Up Global Beauty Camp in South Korea - Day 3

Breakfast

The last breakfast at W Hotel. After eating so much the past few days I decided to eat a little less for breakfast. Can you imagine how much weight I must have put on?  >_<    And this is the last photo together with Pui Si and Miah. Great to have made many new friends during this trip.

Does my breakfast look yummy and healthy to you?
This is actually at Restaurant Namu, a contemporary Japanese cuisine restaurant and liquid bar. The "Kitchen" where we usually had breakfast was full so, this time we ate here.

W Hotel, WET Indoor Swimming Pool and Tonic

Since we had some free time before we had to go to the airport, we decided to have a look at the swimming pool in the hotel and have a look around. We saw this place called Tonic. Looks kind of like a health bar, especially since it's located next to the gym and spa. You can enjoy W Style Korean cuisine and cool cocktails here and enjoy the scenery at the same time.
The swimming pool has indoor heating, so since it was cold outside, it feels like a sauna when you first enter. Haha... The burst of hot air after feeling the cool air of early spring was like... woah...  XD
They had a fantastic view of Han River and you can admire the beautiful view of Seoul City through the exterior glass walls and high ceiling.

Looking for some local Korean shops

During breakfast, we got to chat with one of the restaurant managers and he was telling us all about Korean culture and some places we could visit before we had to go to the airport. He suggested a shopping mall near Konkuk University. I'm not sure what the area is called but he told us that if we just told the taxi driver to go to Konkuk University, it would be fine. But he did write down the name of the area in English and Korean so that we could show it to the taxi driver. Korean people are so nice! And I can never stop talking about how much I loved the trees in South Korea. I'm not saying that I am a tree hugger although I think that it's really important to recycle and take care of the environment, but I love the colour and shapes of the trees. I only regretted that I was not able to see any Sakura trees. So while we waited for the taxi, I took some photos of the hotel exterior for the last time.
I think this is the Lotte Department store. It was about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel. Lotte is actually one of the biggest and most well known brands in South Korea. But... I'm not really a shopaholic and there's not much point in shopping for brands that I can buy in Malaysia or any other popular shopping mall in other countries right? So after looking around in the department store for a little while, we crossed the street to more local Korean shops.
The exterior designs of the cafes, restaurants and shops are always interesting. The names too. Like 'Angel-in-us Coffee', 'chop hair salon'... cute right? I finally see a very Korean street rather than a normal city area. I like these kind of places better than just large cities and concrete jungles.
These stores are so cute! 'Pomato' restaurant? Haha... 'Out of Africa' cafe? Really interesting concepts. There were even these machine games along the street. I saw a Luffy doll from the anime 'One Piece'.  =)
After a while of shopping and walking around, we had to return to the hotel to pack up. I had so many things to pack that my luggage bag was about to burst open. I had to pack lots of stuff in my back pack and the Laneige basket (yes, I took the basket with me. It's mine.  =P) so that I could bring back everything. I literally could not pack anything else inside my luggage bag. My dad told me before I left KL that I should buy an extra bag there to check-in just in case I didn't have enough space in my bag but I didn't really have the time and I felt like there would be too many things to bring around. Maybe I should have listened to my parents though. I ended up not buying too many things either. They would always say that when you travel, never convert the price of things and just buy them so you don't regret...I always said I would listen but in the end, it's always the same case. Haha... regretted not buying a few things. Next time....  =P    It's like a new year's resolution you never keep. Haha...

Incheon Airport

A little sad about having to go back. But it was a fun trip.
Can you see all these bags? I don't think we had this many things when we were at KLIA. And yes, all three of us brought the Laneige baskets with us. Obviously there was no way for us to put then in our bags so we had to carry them the whole time. It was a little embarrassing having to go through customs, immigration and security holding the basket cause the staff would look at us and laugh a little. Well, we did look pretty funny carrying the baskets. When I was about to board the plane and had to show my boarding pass to the airport staff, I was asked what was in the basket. Once in Korean and another time in English since I didn't know what she said the first time. I was pretty tempted to say that it was a puppy. Haha...
Even in the airport I did not see a single McDonald's. I'm a McDonald's fan.. =P All McDonald's around the world have different menus. I was wondering if they had something like a kimchi burger but never got to find out. I think they had more Lotteria's more than McDonald's? Local brands are more command I guess. Reminds you of McDonald's doesn't it?
Lookie lookie at my passport stamp. Haha... I wanna travel more and get more stamps.

Since we had some time to kill, Miah and I decided to check out the Korean Traditional Cultural Experience Center. They had some really classy take on crafts and gifts, and local artists. And there were some small events that we could do while waiting.
There were two events that we could choose to do, one was the traiditional printing and the other was the dancheong. We decided to go for the dancheong. The events are free by the way.
Dancheong refers to the traditional color scheme for Korean buildings in the past. The five basic colors (blue, red, yellow, white and black) were used to further beautify the architecture. The dancheong was designed to embellish the building frame with its unified diversity. It also protects surfaces from weathering as well as to denote the hier-archy of the buildings.
This was what they gave us. What we needed to do was paint some colours on it to make it colourful.
Ta-dah~~ What do you think? Did I do a good job? Haha... I'm no artist.
Of course I needed to take a picture with an actual Korean person wearing their traditional clothes.
Just as we were leaving the culture centre, there was a Walk of the Royal Family reenactment just outside. Apparently it happens every 4 hours I think? They walk around the airport and you can see their beautiful costumes. Luckily we didn't miss this!
The King and Queen, followed by the Crown Prince and Crown Princess. I love their Hanboks!
Just outside our departure gate, I got to see something that my mom and one of my besties love. Hello Kitty Cafe! I knew I had to take pictures for them. If only I had more time to actually buy something to drink and eat so that I could take pictures. Hehe..
I love this table. Did you know that Hello Kitty's full name is actually Kitty White? Her twin sister is Mimmy White and their parents are Mary White and Anthony White. I wonder... What about Dear Daniel?
On the plane and it's time to say goodbye to South Korea~~ Annyeong~~

Souveniers from the Laneige Brighten Up Camp

The Top 10 most voted in the Laneige Brighten Up contest got a RM200 goodie bag worth of Laneige products. Guess I should tell you what we got right?
A close up of the invitation I got with all the Laneige goodies in the hotel room.
The Laneige products I bought during the visit the the Laneige Flagship store at Myeong-Dong.
The digital frame with memory card and the Laneige Water Bank Essence with Song Joong Ki's autograph.
 A closer look....
Some Laneige products from the White Plus Renew line that were in the goodie baske too.
This was the travel kit that was provided in the goodie basket as well. Mise en scene Shampoo and Rinse, Happy Bath Body Wash and Facial Foam, and Median Toothpaste and a tooth brush. I really should have bought the shampoo when I saw it in Watsons in Korea. You can't buy it in Malaysia.  =(   But I wouldn't have been able to fit it in my bag anyway.
So these are all the stuff I got from Laneige. The best prize I have ever won. I don't think there is any contest I win in the future that can beat this.
Thanks Laneige for choosing me to be one of the Grand Prize winners and letting me experience this once in a lifetime event. And all the Laneige crew in Korea who were all very friendly. Without you, this event would not be as amazing as it was.

And check out this video of the cool happenings during the Brighten Up Camp by Laneige.
Can you spot me?  =P
